H.D. (Dwayne) Carroll

H.D. (Dwayne) Carroll, 83 of Big Spring, passed away Sept. 26, 2022. He was born Jan. 8, 1939, to parents James Arthur (Cowboy) Carroll and Letha Mae Allison in Mitchell County.

He went to Big Spring High School and served in the U. S. Army 1956 to 1962. He worked for Union Pacific Railroad for 32 years. He enjoyed building Cutty Sark ships and model air planes. He and Jean had a vacation home in South Dakota that they loved and he enjoyed working on the house and gardening.

He was married to the love of his life Ellen Jean Carroll in 1971. H.D is survived by a daughter, Kathy Wells of Big Spring; a son, Scott Morton and wife, Debi of Big Spring; daughter-in-law, Valerie Carroll of Bay City; grandchildren, Chelsy Nanny and fiancé, Chad Gann of Midland, Brenna Wells of Big Spring, Caitlin Perkins of Austin, Billy and Tiffany Morton of North Richland Hills, Debbie and Greg Conaway of Katy, Kristi Thompson of Big Spring, Cory and Emily Morton of Marble Falls, Michael and Kaila Morton of Priddy, Justin and Kim Morton of Brownwood; and 12 great-grandkids.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jeannie; a son, Cody Carroll; and a daughter, Sandra Dalton.

Our very special thanks to Sherry Correa, Mayra Gomez, Yadira Gomez, Cherie Hannabass, Paula Diaz, and Home Hospice. Per his wishes there will be no funeral service.
